Growing up in coastal NC, Miranda began her journey in animal husbandry and care at a young age. Starting off as a wildlife rehabilitator, and farm hand, veterinary medicine was a natural career choice. After attending school at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and the University of Edinburgh, with degrees ranging from BioChemistry to and PgD in Fine Art, Miranda finally settled in Atlanta GA with her husband Nick, boxer mix Samus Aran, and their spotted leopard gecko, Pascal.
Miranda's a ten year veteran of the veterinary technician field, working in various research specialties and disciplines: from large animal/livestock, to reptiles and exotics, to small animal and primates. In her downtime she enjoys creating biologically based metal sculptures, and helping out on her family farm. She is currently pursuing an MFA in sculpture at SCAD.
*Miranda is on TVV Decatur After Hours Emergency Team.
Why she does this: "Being an advocate for those who do not have a voice, and learning something new every day!"
